Having lived and worked in Asia for many years, David is committed to empowering local communities in developing countries to become economically self-sufficient. His position as Chair of Dana Asia allows David to harness both his familiarity with the region and his commercial experience to adapt the venture capital model to a social business.
David is a hands-on styled board director. As well as his current positions as a director of Edge Environment and Chair of Dana Asia, he has previously held more than 20 appointments across corporate, not-for-profit and government.
David’s specialty is scaling and leading high-potential global businesses. He has accomplished this through senior management positions with organisations as diverse as PepsiCo, Allen & Buckeridge, Booz Allen & Hamilton and Austrade. He has also experienced the entrepreneurial journey as a founding investor and member of the start-up team for Asia Foods Limited in China.
David holds a BS (Distinction), Business Management from Babson College, a MBA, International Studies from NYU Stern School of Business and received Honours in the International Management Program at Stockholm School of Economics. He has been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2003.
