Chhenn Sreykouch

Cambodia Country Representative

Chhenn Sreykouch is passionate about helping her local community. When she was young, she dreamed of studying at university to find work with an non-governmental organisation (NGO) that actively supported those who are more impoverished. She is dedicated to improving the lives of those in need, particularly those living and working in Siem Reap’s dump-site community – where Dana Asia’s KJC Farm project is proudly based.

Background

Chhenn graduated from the University of Southeast Asia, Siem Reap in Human Resource Management in 2010. After graduation, she worked for several companies in administration and operations, before deciding she wanted a career in an organisation that demonstrably supported her local community.

Accordingly, in 2013, Chhenn joined the KJC Farm’s team in the role of Accountant. Soon, her skills, work ethic and unsurpassed local community knowledge compelled her to become involved with many more aspects of the project – as well as across Dana Asia’s other projects throughout Cambodia. Chhenn became an invaluable part of Dana Asia’s work in Cambodia and, in 2021, accepted a permanent position with Dana Asia as its Country Representative.

In the future, Chhenn plans to continue her important work with Dana Asia so that she can help poor families in her community access more opportunities for training, and thereby support them to start their own small businesses. Helping the people in her community generate viable incomes and lift themselves and their families out of poverty inspires Chhenn’s work every single day at Dana Asia.
