A tribute to Boeng Nak

Dana Asia is heartbroken to announce the tragic death of KJC Farm manager, Nak. In the early hours of 27th April 2022, Nak lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Siem Reap, Cambodia. At just 28 years old, his passing has come as a devastating shock.

Born to an impoverished family in rural Siem Reap province, Nak’s parents worked hard as farmers and dumpsite scavengers to earn enough money to take care of Nak and his brothers. Their hard work ethic is something they passed on to Nak and his brother Ngit who both joined the KJC Farm team when it first opened in 2013.

Over the past few years, Nak went from strength to strength, rising to every challenge to become a highly capable and reliable farm manager. Much loved by all the KJC Farm team, he was a dedicated worker and an invaluable member of the team. Nak was kind-hearted with a cheerful attitude and always had a bright smile on his face. He had great dreams to help the people of Cambodia and we hope to honour that dream through KJC Farm and beyond.

Our thoughts are with his family and the KJC Farm team as they mourn this tragic loss. We are honoured to have shared the past 9 years with him and will pay tribute to him through the farm’s future successes.

Nak’s work at KJC Farm was a vital source of income for his family. If anyone wishes to donate towards supporting Nak’s family in this time of distress and need, you can do so via the website portal, or by contacting admin@danaasia.org for bank account details.
